How Paper is Made

Paper is made from wood, and many of the world's paper mills are found in those countries which have great forests - Canada, Sweden, and Finland. There are many steps to make paper. First, the trees are felled or cut down and the branches and leaves are removed. After that, the trees are transported to the sawmill. In that place, the bark is stripped from the trunks, which are sawn into logs. The next steps, the logs are conveyed to the paper mill and placed in the shredder. After that, they are cut into small chips and then mixed with water acid. Next, they are heated and crushed to a heavy pulp. The next steps, this wood pulp is cleaned and also chemically bleached to whiten it. After that, it is passed through rollers to flatten it and sheets of wet paper are produced. Then, the water is removed from the sheets. The last step, these sheets are pressed, dried and refined until the finished paper is produced.
