E-mail (Electronic-Mail) is mail that's electronically transmitted by your computer. A message at least consists of its content, an author address and one or more recipient addresses. The first using e-mail is in 1965 as a way to multiple user communication by time sharing and mainframe computer. E-mail uses Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) to communicate with other computers in Internet.

Nowadays, there are many free e-mail services such as Yahoo! and Google. We must fill the registration form to get an e-mail account. The registration form commonly consists of user identity such as e-mail ID, password, name, and other identity. Yahoo! gives us three account choices for our e-mail. They are @yahoo.com, @rocketmail.com, and @ymail.com. In Google, we get @gmail.com account.

There are many benefits if we have an e-mail account. E-mail sends our messages anywhere in the world instantaneously. Our message sent only about a minute. We can also send file such as images, music, or office data by e-mail. Beside that, we can use e-mail to register in some websites.

We can read e-mail not only when online but also when offline. To read e-mail when offline, we should have e-mail client application, an application to download e-mail from an account. There are many e-mail client applications such as Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird. We can get Mozilla Thunderbird free, but we must pay to get Microsoft Outlook.

From the paragraph above we know that e-mail is very important today. There are many benefits we get if we have an e-mail account. So if you don’t have an e-mail account, let make an e-mail account immediately.
